Job summary

TEC Systems in New York City seeks a Senior Controls Design Engineer specializing in HVAC, Building Automation, and Control Systems (BAS/BMS). This role involves leading design efforts, collaborating with project teams, and mentoring junior engineers while ensuring high-quality designs and compliance with client expectations.

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience and strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Qualifications

• Preferably 5+ years of experience leading complex controls designs.
• Experience designing DDC/BAS/BMS control systems.
• Ability to interpret architectural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and communications drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for large and complex projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and commissioning staff.
• Design DDC control panels, wiring schematics, and system interfaces.

Skills

Strong understanding of building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems

Excellent written and verbal communication

Strong organization and multitasking ability

AutoCAD

Bluebeam

Microsoft Office Suite

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
