Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Controls Engineer to join its building automation team. You will design DDC/BAS control systems for commercial facilities, develop controller programs, and create graphics and documentation from design through commissioning.

You’ll collaborate with project managers, field technicians, and customers, review scopes and schedules, and support startup, testing, and training. Travel to customer sites is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience designing, programming, or engineering Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC).
• Experience with commercial HVAC control systems and energy management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, control diagrams, project specifications, and sequences of operation.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Design complete DDC/BAS control systems based on project plans, specifications, and sequences of operation.
• Develop and configure controller programming, graphics, databases, and front-end interfaces for HVAC equipment and building automation systems.
• Select and verify control hardware, field devices, and system components to ensure compatibility and performance.
• Support project managers by reviewing project scope, engineering requirements, budgets, and schedules.
• Produce engineering documentation including control drawings, submittals, network architecture, O&M manuals, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate with purchasing and operations teams to ensure timely delivery of project materials.
• Assist with system startup, point-to-point checkout, commissioning, functional testing, and final project turnover.
• Provide customer training and technical support throughout project execution.
• Troubleshoot system issues and collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Maintain strong communication with customers, field personnel, and project stakeholders throughout each phase of the project.
