Job summary

Jobot is seeking a BAS Design Engineer to join the St. Louis team, focusing on designing building automation and HVAC control systems for commercial and industrial facilities.

You will work with project managers, programmers, and installation teams to ensure designs enable successful installation and operation. The ideal candidate has strong BAS/DDC experience, CAD proficiency (AutoCAD/Visio), and knowledge of HVAC equipment and control sequences.

Qualifications

• Experience designing Building Automation Systems (BAS), DDC, or HVAC control systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Visio, or similar design software.
• Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, control sequences, and electrical wiring.
• Familiarity with BAS platforms such as Niagara, Schneider Electric, Distech, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Automated Logic.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and project specifications.
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and building automation networks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop BAS/DDC control drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation packages.
• Design control panel layouts, system architecture, and network diagrams.
• Select controllers, sensors, actuators, and other control system components.
• Prepare engineering submittals, points lists, and equipment schedules.
• Review mechanical plans, project specifications, and sequences of operation.
• Coordinate with project managers, technicians, and contractors to resolve design questions.
• Update drawings and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
