Job summary

Jobot, a leading technology solutions integration company, is seeking a Design Engineer to design and develop building automation and HVAC systems for commercial and industrial projects in Kansas City. The role emphasizes collaboration with project teams, energy efficiency, and reliable control strategies.

The position requires experience with HVAC/BAS/DDC, knowledge of drawings and schematics, and familiarity with AutoCAD or Visio.

Qualifications

Experience in HVAC mechanical design or Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC).
Understanding of commercial HVAC systems, controls integration, and equipment operation.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, control schematics, and construction documents.
Experience with AutoCAD, Visio or related design software preferred.
Familiarity with BAS platforms, controls sequences, and system networking is a plus.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Design and develop HVAC mechanical systems and/or BAS/DDC control systems for commercial/industrial facilities.
Create control drawings, submittals, sequences of operation, system architecture layouts, and design documentation.
Support BAS/DDC system design including controllers, field devices, networking, and integration strategies.
Coordinate with project managers, field technicians, contractors, engineers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Review project specifications, mechanical plans, and control requirements.
Assist with equipment selection, controls integration, and energy-efficient system strategies.
Support commissioning efforts and technical troubleshooting as needed.
Ensure designs meet project requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations.
