Job summary

Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley is seeking a part-time Bartender to deliver quick and efficient beverage service to hotel guests and servers. The role requires a solid knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails, with an emphasis on guest rapport and accuracy in order fulfillment.

The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of serving experience in upscale settings, be able to obtain required food handling or alcohol certifications, and be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years serving experience in upscale establishment.
• Must be able to obtain required food handling or alcohol serving certifications.
• Hotel/resort experience preferred.
• Must be able to be on feet for entire shift and communicate with guests effectively.
• Flexible schedule with ability to work weekends/holidays/evenings.
• All applicants must have legal documents to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a selection of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks from the menu.
• Build rapport with the guest with above and beyond service.
• Confirm guest orders using the hotel’s POS system.
• Check completed orders with the guest’s original order.
• Provide vivid descriptions of items’ origin, taste and preparation methods.

About the position

The Bartender (Part Time) provides hotel guests and servers with quick and efficient beverage service with a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar.

Responsibilities:

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Prepare and serve a selection of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks from the menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing, and blending according to established recipes and established Four Seasons Standards
• Building rapport with the guest with above and beyond service
• Confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests from the lounge server using the hotel’s point-of-sales system
• Check completed orders with the guest’s original order
• Service and take orders from guests seated at the bar area offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of the each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods; maintain a working knowledge of liquors, wines, beets, ports, armagnacs, eau de vies, cognacs and specialty drinks

Skills/Qualifications:

Ideal candidate will have:

• Ideal candidate will have 2-3 years serving experience in upscale establishment, wine wine/beer/spirit knowledge
• Must be able to obtain any required food handing or alcohol serving certifications required by local or state agencies.
• Hotel/resort experience preferred
• Must be able to be on feet for entire shift and communicate with guests appropriately and effectively
• Above and beyond attitude is required as well as a flexible schedule with ability to work weekends/holidays and evenings
• All applicants must have the proper legal documents to work in the United States.
