The bartender prepares and serves a selection of wine, spirits, and cocktails.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a selection of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks from the menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing, and blending according to recipes.
- Confirm guest orders, including any special needs or requests, using the hotel’s point‑of‑sales system; verify completed orders against the guest’s original order.
- Serve and take orders from guests seated at the bar area, offering interesting, vivid descriptions of each item’s origin, taste, and preparation methods; maintain a working knowledge of liquors, wines, beers, ports, Armagnacs, eau de vie, cognacs, and specialty drinks.
- Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, responding urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
- Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of high‑volume bartending experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
- Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Extensive knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits; ability to upsell.
- Strong time‑management skills: ability to multi‑task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions; willing to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job; knowledge of Opera and Micros POS preferred or is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 30 lbs.
