Job summary

Four Seasons in Los Angeles is seeking a part-time bartender for on-call shifts. You will set up the bar, prepare beverages, and serve guests with a friendly, professional demeanor in a high-volume hotel bar environment.

Requirements include at least 1 year of bartending experience, High School diploma or equivalent, and Alcohol Awareness Certification. You must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; Micros knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year high volume bartending experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; hotel or related field preferred.
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification (state requirements).
  • Clear communication of information and ideas.
  • Ability to evaluate options quickly and accurately.
  • Works well under pressure and in busy environments.
  • Good listening to guests and coworkers.
  • Ability to handle financial information and basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to balance a tray.
  • Average knowledge of wines, spirits and mixed drinks.
  • Good communication and customer contact skills.
  • Flexible schedule; able to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Micros knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Approach guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain attendance per Four Seasons standards and hotel scheduling.
  • Maintain personal appearance and wear uniform with name tag.
  • Comply with Four Seasons standards and safety regulations to ensure smooth operations.
  • Follow certification requirements applicable to position (Alcohol Awareness, Food Handlers, Safety).
  • Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
  • Set up the bar according to standards and events to serve guests promptly.
  • Prepare beverages and cocktails per hotel mixing standards.
  • Serve guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Break down bar after events; store liquor, supplies, and equipment per standards.
  • Follow state liquor laws.
  • Know hotel services and facilities.
  • Adhere to hotel policies and safety rules.
  • Follow procedures in serving liquor to avoid intoxication issues.
  • Respond to guests' problems, complaints and incidents.
  • Know fire exit and extinguisher locations and operation.
  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests and staff.
  • Keep bar and service areas clean during service.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Four Seasons standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.
  • Comply at all times with Four Seasons standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Comply with certification requirements as applicable to position to include Alcohol Awareness, Food Handlers, Safety, etc.
  • Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
  • Set up the bar according to hotel standards and Banquet Event Order to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.
  • Prepare beverages and cocktails according to the hotel's mixing and presentation standards.
  • Serve guests with all beverage requirements in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
  • Break down bar after the completion of functions; Store liquor, supplies, and equipment according to the hotel's standards.
  • Follow all state liquor laws.
  • Know hotel services and facilities.
  • Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules.
  • Follow prescribed procedures in serving liquor with care to avoid problems with intoxicated guests.
  • Respond to guests' problems, complaints and accidents.
  • Be familiar with all fire exit locations and fire extinguisher locations and know how to operate.
  • Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and their fellow employees.
  • Ensure that the bar and service areas are kept clean and tidy during service.
  • Attend meetings as required by management.
  • Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Qualifications

  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Ability to carry and balance a tray.
