Job summary

HMSHost is seeking a Bartender to greet guests, take orders, and craft cocktails and beverages. You will also serve beer and other drinks, manage transactions, and communicate with the team to ensure timely service. This non-exempt position reports to the Store/General Manager as required by local rules.

Responsibilities include upselling, following recipes, handling cash, and maintaining a sanitized bar. Minimum age for alcohol service applies and prior high-volume experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Requires at least 1 year of bartender experience; high-volume/fast casual preferred.
• Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits and beverage preparation.
• Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic manner.
• Able to speak, read, and understand instructions and policies; communicate with customers.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Hands-on work with water and cleaning solutions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and take drink/food orders; upsell products.
• Follow recipes and directions for beverage preparation.
• Collect payments and operate cash register per company policies; secure funds.
• Follow alcohol awareness procedures and handle intoxicated guests.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized and well-stocked bar.
• Communicate ticket times and potential problems to managers and servers.
