Job summary

Culinary Dropout is hiring immediately for a bartender role at The Bowl at Ballantyne in Charlotte. The position requires 2+ years of high-volume bartending experience and a passion for hospitality.

You’ll know the menu, make genuine recommendations, and keep a clean, fast-paced bar ready for guest demand. Applicants should be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, work weekends and some holidays, and be comfortable with POS systems and OpenTable.

Responsibilities

• Provide great hospitality by going above and beyond for every guest.
• Know the menu and be able to make genuine recommendations.
• Have a strong knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits; know basic cocktails.
• Keep it clean; maintain an organized bar in a high-volume environment.
• Respond to on-the-fly requests with poise; work weekends and some holidays.
• Understand POS systems and OpenTable; follow all laws and company policies.

Please join us for job fair on Monday 9/28 - Sunday 10/18 (NO Sunday 10/4 & 10/11). Hours are Monday to Saturday 10:00am - 6:00pm and Sunday 11:00am - 4:00pm at 15220 Bowl St. We are excited to join The Bowl at Ballantyne this fall!

What you’ll do:

• Must have 2+years high-volume recent bartending experience
• You have excellent communication skills, can stand for long periods of time, and are able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Provide great hospitality by going above and beyond for every guest
• Know the menu and be able to make genuine recommendations
• Have a strong knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits. Know basic cocktail recipes
• Keep it clean. You’re fanatical about clutter.
• Perform calmly and effectively in a high-volume environment
• Respond to on-the-fly requests with ease and poise
• Understand POS systems and OpenTable (or other digital/online reservation systems)
• Follow all alcoholic beverage laws, company policies and procedures
• Availability to work weekends and some holidays
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant
