Job summary

Metz Culinary Management is growing and has openings for Rock Star Baristas in a busy college setting. You will craft hot and cold beverages and serve pastries with a smile.

Applicants should have prior barista experience, know how to operate brewing equipment, and hold a SERV Safe Certification. This position requires physical stamina and cash-handling duties in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience required.
• Knowledge of how brewing equipment operates.
• SERV Safe Certification.
• Physical ability to bend, twist, squat, reach, crawl, push/pull, and stand for long periods.
• Reading, writing, oral proficiency, and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, stock, and maintain your station continuously throughout the day.
• Greets guests determining their coffee interests and needs.
• Educates guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu and answering questions.
• Preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques along with serving pastries, sandwiches, and other food items.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Use of cash register, accurate cash handling and payment processing.
• Work as a team with others, train new team members, and cross train in other departments.
• Complete weekly inventory and order list.
• Clean and maintain all equipment continuously.
• Perform any other tasks as requested by Operations Manager.

Requirements:

• Previous Barista experience required
• Knowledge of how brewing equipment operates.
• SERV Safe Certification
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, reach, crawl, push/pull, and stand without limitation and for long periods of time
• Ability to carry 50lbs on a consistent basis
• Reading, writing, oral proficiency, and basic math skills
