Job summary

The Willard InterContinental Washington, part of InterContinental Hotels Group, is seeking a Barback to support bartenders by preparing, setting up and maintaining high standards in our outlets in Washington, DC.

You will stock bars, assist in garnishes preparation, and help keep the lounge clean and organized throughout shifts, while delivering courteous guest service and responding to requests and feedback.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Barback.
• Experience working in a busy bar environment and meeting deadlines.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and work as part of a wider hotel team.

Responsibilities

• Stock bars with liquor, beer, wine, ice, and supplies following established procedures.
• Clean beverage equipment, glasses, and service areas; assist bar wait staff and bartenders in clearing tables and maintaining lounge cleanliness.
• Assist bartenders with the preparation of garnishes and mixes.
• Perform side‑work and other opening or closing duties as required; ensure wait staff stations remain clean and maintained throughout the shift.
• Clear and clean tables promptly; wipe down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors, and floors as necessary.
• Respond courteously and promptly to all guest requests and complaints.
• Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines.
