Job summary

The Willard InterContinental Washington, DC hotel, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a Barback to support our bartenders in delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will stock, clean, and assist in meal and beverage service, upholding standards in a busy hotel bar.

Qualifications

• Passion for delivering great service.
• Previous experience as a Barback.
• Experience working in a busy bar environment and working to deadlines.
• Willingness to learn new things and work as part of a wider hotel team.

Responsibilities

• Stocking bars with liquor, beer, wine, ice, and supplies by following established procedures.
• Cleaning beverage equipment, glasses, and service areas and assisting Bar Wait Staff and bartenders in clearing tables and cleaning lounge area.
• Assisting Bartender in the preparation of garnishes and mixes.
• Performing side-work, and any other opening or closing duties as required. Ensure that wait staff stations are clean and maintained throughout the shift.
• Clearing and cleaning tables in a prompt and efficient manner. Cleaning and/or wiping down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors, and floors as necessary.
• Responding in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest requests and complaints.
• Making appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines.
