Job summary

Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City is seeking a Director of Banquets to lead the hotel's banquet and event operations in a high-volume, full-service setting.

You will oversee meetings, conferences, weddings and catered events, manage a banquet team, control costs, and ensure service excellence that aligns with Hilton standards. This role requires strong leadership and client relationship skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
• 5–7 years banquet or F&B experience, with 3–5 years in leadership.
• Experience in a high-volume full-service hotel preferred.
• Experience with Hilton systems (OnQ, Delphi/Amadeus) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end banquet execution per BEOs and timelines.
• Review events daily; resolve conflicts before guest impact.
• Lead pre-event meetings; communicate details and VIP needs.
• Coordinate with Culinary, Sales, Convention Services and other teams.
• Serve as on-site contact for planners and clients.
• Manage room turns and staffing in a high-volume setting.
• Own banquet P&L; monitor revenue, labor and food costs.
• Prepare and monitor annual banquet budget and forecasts.
• Post and reconcile banquet charges.
• Identify upsell opportunities with Catering Sales.
• Recruit, train and supervise banquet staff.
