Job summary

Swissôtel Chicago is seeking a Banquet House Person to set up and break down banquet functions, ensuring accuracy to the BEO and smooth event execution. You will work behind the scenes to contribute to memorable luxury events and guest experiences.

Physical duties include standing, lifting up to 50 lbs and flexible shifts. Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork are essential to thrive in a high‑pressure, fast-paced environment.

• Provide the necessary State and Federal Requirements to work in Food and Beverage

Responsibilities

• Set-Up and breakdown banquet functions according to Swissôtel standard policies and procedures
• Ensure all Banquet functions are set up according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO)
• Check BEOs to determine function, guest count and event type
• Breakdown and clean event rooms thoroughly; return equipment to proper areas
• Obtain copy of BEO and follow setup instructions
• Read BEO thoroughly to determine room set and requirements, and any special needs
• Check the room for proper table setup and alignment
• Report to supervisor any room deficiencies, lights or equipment
• Set room according to contract and escalate discrepancies to supervisor
• Prepare tables for buffet setup if applicable
• Perform other tasks as assigned
• Physical requirements include standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and ability to work 8 hours
