Job summary

The Resort at Pelican Hill is seeking a dedicated Houseperson to support banquet operations on-site in Newport Beach, CA. You will assist with setup and breakdown of function spaces, maintain room appearances, and move materials as needed to meet high-end hotel standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of luxury-hotel experience, strong attention to detail, and professionalism when coordinating with managers and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year experience as a Houseperson in a luxury hotel/resort preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to work with management and other staff professionally.
• Must have California Food Handlers Card or ability to obtain before start date.

Responsibilities

• Set up and breakdown banquet spaces with tables, chairs, podiums, beverage stations and flooring.
• Retrieve materials and deliver to rooms as needed.
• Maintain appearance of banquet and meeting rooms (cleaning, linens, etc.).
• Ensure prompt arrival for setup and stay up-to-date on events.
• Follow hotel safety procedures and payroll/uniform policies.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
• Respond to hotel emergencies and safety situations.
