Job summary

White Lodging in Austin is seeking a Banquet Set Up Supervisor at JW Marriott Austin to lead the banquet set-up team and ensure flawless event execution, creating memorable experiences.

You will supervise housepersons, assign duties, manage staffing, ensure supplies and equipment, train new associates, oversee room setups per BEOs, and uphold safety standards; TIPS certification and Bloodborne Pathogen training are required.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to train and guide a team.
• Ability to perform all banquet set-up functions and operate industrial equipment such as vacuums and buffers.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures, safety protocols, and compliance with workplace standards.
• TIPS Certification and completion of required training, including Chemical and Bloodborne Pathogen training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise banquet housepersons and oversee staffing levels to ensure timely and efficient event set-up and breakdown.
• Assign duties to team members, schedule shifts, and monitor performance to maintain service levels within labor models.
• Ensure proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms are available and in good condition for all associates.
• Assist in training, interviewing, and onboarding new associates while reinforcing a positive team culture.
• Oversee meeting room set-up, tear down, and refreshes according to banquet event orders (BEOs) and handle last-minute requests.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of banquet areas, storerooms, and equipment while following all health and safety standards.
