Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality is seeking a banquet server to assist with the set up and breakdown of event spaces and serve food and beverages in a friendly, professional manner according to hotel standards. You will attend pre-event briefings, greet guests, and ensure consistent service throughout each function.

The role involves lifting, standing, and moving equipment, with shifts that vary due to 24/7 hotel operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Hold a current Food Handler Card.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions.
• Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms with linen, service ware and glassware as instructed.
• Attend stand up meetings to learn function specifics and expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Serve food and/or beverages per Banquet Captain directions.
• Bus dishes and replenish beverages as guests are served.
• Reset banquet rooms for subsequent functions as needed.
• Complete side work and maintain health standards.
• Adhere to all safety and security procedures and company policies.
• Assist other banquet staff as needed.
