Job summary

Utah Lodge in Park City, UT is seeking a Banquet Server to join our team for high-profile events on the property. You will serve food and beverages, greet guests, and assist with guest requests to ensure a memorable experience.

We value strong guest service, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure during peak service periods. Prior luxury hospitality exposure is preferred, and shifts can be long and demanding. This is an on-site role supporting the Banquets Management Team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of server experience in hospitality.
  • Experience in a luxury environment is preferred.
  • Able to work 8-hour shifts and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly greeting.
  • Anticipate guests' service needs and ask questions to understand preferences.
  • Provide accurate check handling and process payments including gratuities.
  • Answer questions on menu selections and coordinate with kitchen for clarification.
  • Set tables according to event type and service standards; maintain cleanliness.
  • Follow alcohol service procedures and comply with safety policies.
  • Record transactions accurately in the system and maintain guest trust.
  • Close out duties, restock, and ensure all equipment and areas are clean.

The Banquet Server reports directly to the Banquets Management Team and is responsible for working on different high-profile events on the property. Serving food and beverages to guests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest's name when possible.

Anticipate guests' service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences, and acting on them whenever possible.

Thank guests with genuine appreciation and provide a fond farewell.

Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests using brand or property-specific processes to resolve issues, delight, and build trust. Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions/offerings.

Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.

Present physical and accurate check and process payment, adhering to all cash handling and credit policies/procedures including added and received gratuity.

Answer questions on menu selections, and check with kitchen staff whenever additional clarification is necessary.

Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.

Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.

Set tables according to the type of event and service standards, including types of linens, glassware, plate/chinaware, and silver/flatware, ensuring all supplies meet quality standards.

Follow appropriate procedures for serving alcohol.

Record transactions in the system at the time of order.

Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.

Follow company and department policies and procedures.

Complete closing duties, including storing all reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment and areas, returning equipment to proper locations, locking refrigerators, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing daily cleaning checklist.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Required

At least 1 year of server experience.

Experience in a luxury environment is preferred.

SKILLS, ATTITUDES, AND BEHAVIORS
Personal Skills:

Must be able to work well under pressure.

Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written.

Must be highly detail orientated.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to sit or stand for at least 8 hours and be able to lift up, push, and pull at least 35 pounds
