Job summary

Marriott Norfolk Waterside in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Banquet Server. You will provide high-quality service to guests, maintain correct table settings, and assist with Food & Beverage service in banquet environments.

The role requires standing for up to 8 hours, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays. Prior banquet or liquor service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• Ability to carry a large oval tray with 6 covered dinners (~20 lbs).
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs; push/pull carts up to 150 lbs.

Responsibilities

To know proper table settings and Food and Beverage Service. To be helpful and courteous in any manner of guest contact. This industry functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day. Job involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor and outdoor settings • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8-hours in length. Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays.
