Job summary

HM Alpha Hotels & Resorts is seeking an On-Call Banquet Server to deliver attentive, professional service for banquets, conferences, weddings, and special events at JW Marriott Houston. Responsibilities include setup, serving, clearing, and maintaining sanitary work areas, with a focus on guest satisfaction.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and prior guest service or server experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet function rooms with linens, china, silverware, glassware, centerpieces, beverage stations, and service items.
• Serve food and beverages to banquet guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Clear tables and remove dishes, linens, and service items after events.
• Ensure proper storage of banquet equipment, supplies, and perishable items.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work areas during each shift.
• Prepare for events by folding napkins and restocking condiments.
• Provide team support by relieving coworkers for breaks as needed.
• Greet guests warmly and deliver exceptional customer service.

The On-Call Banquet Server plays an essential role in creating seamless, memorable events by delivering attentive, professional service to guests. This position directly influences the success of banquets, conferences, weddings, and special events through efficient preparation, service, and cleanup that reflects the highest standards of hospitality.

HOW YOU’LL SHAPE THE EXPERIENCE & FUTURE

• Set up banquet function rooms with linens, China, silverware, glassware, centerpieces, beverage stations, and other required service items.
• Serve food and beverages to banquet guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Clear tables and remove dishes, linens, and service items following banquet events.
• Ensure proper storage of banquet equipment, supplies, and perishable food items.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work areas throughout each shift.
• Prepare for upcoming events by folding napkins, restocking condiments, and completing other banquet preparation tasks.
• Provide team support by relieving coworkers for scheduled breaks as needed.
• Greet guests warmly and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
