Hireology is seeking an On-Call Banquet Server to deliver exceptional food and beverage service at resort events such as weddings and conferences. You will set up banquet spaces, assist with service stations, and ensure guest satisfaction while upholding resort standards.

Ideal candidates have strong customer service and communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Position Summary

The On-Call Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service during resort events, including weddings, conferences, corporate meetings, social gatherings, and special events. This position ensures banquet functions are set up properly, executed efficiently, and delivered with outstanding guest service while maintaining resort standards of excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms according to event orders and banquet event specifications.
• Prepare tables, linens, place settings, glassware, and service stations.
• Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner.
• Assist with buffet setup, replenishment, and breakdown.
• Clear tables and maintain cleanliness throughout events.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve service issues courteously.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Assist with event breakdown and room reset after functions.
• Work collaboratively with banquet captains, kitchen staff, and other team members to ensure seamless event execution.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, beverage selections, and event details.
• Handle equipment and supplies responsibly and report maintenance concerns.
• Adhere to resort policies, procedures, and service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous banquet, restaurant, catering, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Food Handler and/or alcohol service certification preferred, as required by local regulations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and move banquet equipment and supplies.
• Capable of working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of banquet service styles, including plated, buffet, and reception service.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

Working Conditions

• On-call position based on business levels and event schedules.
• Hours may vary and include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Work is performed in banquet facilities, meeting spaces, restaurants, and outdoor event venues throughout the resort.
