Job summary

Sparrow's Point Country Club in Dundalk, MD is seeking a driven, part-time Banquet Server to join a Troon-managed hospitality team. The role emphasizes guest service in a fast-paced events environment with opportunities to learn and grow within a global golf and community management organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1–3 months banquet setting or related experience preferred.
• Past catering, banquet, or server experience is a plus.
• Must be 18 years or older to serve alcohol.

Responsibilities

• Prepares function site and ensures room is set according to specifications.
• Serves food and beverages to guests per established guidelines.
• Sets dining tables, buffets and service areas per Banquet Event Order.
• Communicates guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager.
• Maintains clean banquet or catering areas and equipment.
• Assists in inventory control and waste monitoring for banquet areas.
• Delivers excellent customer service by anticipating guest needs.
• Performs other duties as required.

As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management

Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares function site and assures meeting room is set according to specifications
• Serves food and beverage items to guests based on established guidelines
• Sets dining tables, buffets, and other service areas according to the Banquet Event Order or as directed
• Communicates guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager
• Helps to maintain a clean banquet or catering kitchen, coolers, and equipment
• Assists in inventory control and monitoring waste in the banquet or catering area
• Ensures guests are provided with excellent customer service by anticipating their needs before they arise
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
• Performs other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months of banquet setting and service experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Past catering, banquet, or server experience is a plus

Must be 18 years of age or older to meet state age requirements to serve alcohol

Knowledge of banquet setup

Maintains regular and reliable attendance
