Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts is seeking a candidate to assist the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage in managing banquet activities to ensure successful functions and repeat business. The role involves supervising setup, coordinating with kitchen and service teams, and overseeing payroll and billing processes.

Ideal candidates have hotel operations knowledge, leadership ability, and strong communication skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hotel operations including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, and budget forecasting.
• Leadership skills to motivate staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals.
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, train, evaluate performance, resolve problems, and discipline when appropriate.
• Supervise the setup of function rooms with linens, silver, china, and glassware.
• Oversee the cleanup of function room and proper breakdown and storage of equipment.
• Communicate with kitchen, service, beverage, convention services, engineering staff and guest host to ensure timely execution of events and adherence to standards.
• Enter billing information into point of sale system to generate a final guest check.
• Post all banquet checks at end of day and submit to Night Audit.
• Assist with payroll processing for each event including hours worked and gratuity distribution.
• Check staff attendance and reassign stations to provide quality service during functions.
