Job summary

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Banquet Supervisor to oversee all banquet events, ensuring quality service, adherence to standards, and profitability. The role manages staff, coordinates with Sales, Catering, Housekeeping and other departments, and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.

The person in this role will lead daily operations, monitor budgets, and maintain consistency across events while delivering exceptional guest experiences at a luxury level.

Qualifications

• Some college or advanced food and beverage operations training and two years experience in banquets or food and beverage operations, including one year supervisory experience.
• Must speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities of the banquet department, communicate objectives, and schedule/assign work.
• Recommend and/or initiate salary, disciplinary, or other staffing-related actions in accordance with company rules and policies.
• Ensure all staff is properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to perform their job functions.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• Interact with guests, vendors, regulatory agencies, and other contacts as needed.
• May serve as Manager on Duty.
• Perform other duties as assigned including assisting banquet staff during peak periods.
