Job summary

Cragun is seeking an Event Captain to lead our service team aboard a 65-foot, two-story cruise boat on Gull Lake. You’ll guide both public and private events, from weddings to corporate outings, ensuring flawless execution and guest satisfaction.

You’ll act as the on-site maestro, maintaining energy, professionalism, and flawless communication with clients and staff, while adapting to a lively, dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in hospitality, catering, or event service; leadership is a plus.
• Food safety and alcohol service certifications are advantageous, but can be obtained with company support.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and energize service staff during setup, service, and breakdown.
• Serve as the main contact for clients and vendors to ensure clear communication.
• Bring event timelines, floor plans, and service standards to life with precision.
• Oversee food and beverage service, ensuring high quality and presentation.
• Resolve challenges professionally and promptly.
• Provide post-event feedback to help elevate future service.

As our Event Captain, you’ll be the heart of our team, making sure that every public and private event or cruise, whether it’s a dreamy wedding or a lively corporate outing, goes off without a hitch. You'll be the go-to person for both our clients and staff, spreading joy and professionalism at every event.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality, catering, or event service—leadership experience is a plus!
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills that shine in a fast-paced environment.
• A calm and professional demeanor, even under pressure.
• An eagle-eyed attention to detail and a commitment to putting guests first.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays—is your schedule ready for excitement?
