Job summary

AHC Hospitality in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Banquet Cook to prepare and execute high-quality banquet and employee meals, following recipes, plating guides, and food safety standards.

This is a working, production-focused role supporting the kitchen's daily operations, cleanliness, and consistent food quality in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Weekend availability is required; the team offers employee meals, parking discounts, and opportunities for growth within our hotels and resorts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years of professional kitchen experience required; banquet foodservice experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification (or equivalent) required or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Culinary training or vocational education a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute banquet and employee meal items according to recipes, plating guides, and event specifications.
• Follow prep lists daily and communicate needed items or shortages to supervisor.
• Maintain temperature and food safety logs.
• Keep coolers, freezers, and storage areas clean, organized, and properly labeled; practice FIFO.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen and prep areas.
• Assist with washing dishes and equipment cleaning.
• Complete closing duties and secure kitchen equipment.
• Assist in employee meals and break room setup as directed.
• Communicate with the Banquet Kitchen Supervisor and team to ensure quality and smooth service.
• Escalate any food quality, safety, or equipment concerns promptly.
