Job summary

Loews Nashville Hotel is seeking a dynamic Banquet Captain to lead on-floor banquet operations, ensuring flawless event execution from setup to breakdown.

You will coordinate with culinary, sales, and operations teams, manage service teams, and uphold high standards of food presentation and guest satisfaction. The role demands strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Three+ years experience as a Banquet Captain in a high-volume upscale hotel or banquet operation.
• Alcohol service certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Exceptional knowledge of banquet and food service techniques and standards.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with POS systems and basic financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all assigned banquet functions from setup through breakdown.
• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and coordinate with culinary, sales, and operations.
• Direct banquet team by assigning service stations and providing hands-on leadership.
• Coordinate and monitor food and beverage service to meet quality and timing standards.
• Plan staffing, conduct pre-shift meetings, and communicate event expectations.
• Train, coach, and mentor team members to foster a high-performing culture.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, inventory, and event documentation.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety policies.
