Job summary

Sodexo in Savannah, GA is seeking a Banquet Captain to provide on-floor leadership during banquet and catered events, coordinating service and directing banquet staff to meet BEOs, timelines, and service standards.

You will work with the culinary and service teams, participate in setup, service, and breakdown, and focus on guest satisfaction, communication, and attention to detail to ensure events run smoothly and professionally.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of banquet, catering, or food and beverage service experience.
• Prior lead or captain experience in a banquet or event environment preferred.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol per local/state rules.
• Must hold valid alcohol-service certification (TIPS/TEAM or equivalent) or comply with state requirements.
• Food handler certification may be required per state/local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-floor leadership during banquet events by coordinating service and directing staff.
• Ensure service delivery aligns with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and timelines.
• Maintain guest satisfaction with clear communication and attention to detail.
• Assist with training banquet staff and ensure food safety and regulatory compliance.
