Job summary

Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, NJ is seeking a Banquet Captain to lead our banquet team in serving guests during functions, ensuring a positive guest experience and flawless event execution.

Responsibilities include reviewing BEOs, coordinating with staff, planning assignments, and maintaining clean banquet spaces, while also serving guests when needed and ensuring knowledge of menu items.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills to provide information and services to guests and management.
• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs through a crowded room.
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Check Banquet Event Orders (BEO) to ensure information is accurate.
• Check room setup to follow BEO directions.
• Plan opening/closing assignments.
• Assign seating charts and staff responsibilities.
• Ensure public areas are neat and clean.
• Communicate BEO changes to catering office and affected departments.
• Coordinate with banquet staff for setups, changes and schedules.
• Operate as banquet server during functions.
• Inspect banquet areas at end of function and ensure equipment is returned and areas are clean.
• Know the menu for each function and explain major ingredients and preparation methods.

Salary Range: $20.00 To $22.00 Hourly

Crystal Springs is looking for a Banquet Captain to lead our banquet team in the serving of guests during banquet functions to ensure positive guest experience.

• Check server and house person Banquet Event Orders (BEO) to ensure that all information is accurate
• Check room set-up to see that BEO directions are completely followed
• Plan opening/closing assignments
• Assign seating charts and staff responsibilities
• Ensure that all public areas are neat and clean
• Communicate all BEO changes to catering office and affected departments
• Coordinate with banquet staff set-ups, changes and time schedules for all functions
• Operate as a banquet server; setting-up, greeting and serving the guest and breaking-down the function
• Inspect banquet areas at end of function to ensure all equipment is returned to its proper area and all areas are clean
• Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation method for each item to be served
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
