Job summary

Midland States Bank is seeking a Universal Banker Trainee to deliver excellent customer experiences. You will learn to place customers in the right mix of products and services through needs-based questioning and meet performance goals set by management.

The role includes training, potential travel, and opportunities to engage in community activities while developing knowledge of deposits, lending, and referral partnerships within a full-service banking environment.

Qualifications

• Sales and customer service background.

Responsibilities

• Receive cash and checks for deposit, verify amounts, endorsements, and review checks for potential fraud.
• Cashes checks for customers in accordance with bank policy and issues receipts.
• Balance cash drawer to reduce teller differences.
• Identify correct product types through needs-based questioning to refer business partners.
• Assist with basic deposit account openings and maintenance with guidance from a senior employee.
• Develop product knowledge to achieve personal and team goals; track sales in CRM.
• Promote Employee Perks at Work Program and Merchant Services; participate in on-site visits.
• Participate in outbound teleconsulting to expand client relationships.
• Maintain compliance with regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act.
