Job summary

Midland States Bank is seeking a Universal Banker Trainee to deliver outstanding customer experiences. You will learn to place customers in the right mix of banking products through needs-based questioning and achieve performance goals set by the Banking Center Manager.

This role involves cash handling, deposit processing, and occasional travel within the market for training and team meetings. You will contribute to a culture of service excellence while supporting branch operations.

Qualifications

• Sales and customer service background.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and transport coin and currency bags (25–50 lbs).
• Multilingual speakers are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Receive cash and checks for deposit, verifying amounts and endorsements.
• Cashes checks for customers in accordance with bank policy.
• Balance cash drawer throughout the day to minimize discrepancies.
• Identify correct product types through needs-based questioning to build relationships.
• Promote the Employee Perks at Work Program and Merchant Services.
• Serve as relief/teller in other Midland States Bank locations.
• Complete learning activities timely and reflect bank values.
