Job summary

Midland States Bank in Centralia, IL, is seeking a Universal Banker Trainee to deliver exceptional service and learn the full spectrum of banking products.

You will handle deposits, checks, accounts, referrals, and customer inquiries while meeting performance goals set by the Banking Center Manager. The role includes travel and occasional off-site work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive cash and checks for deposit, verify amounts and endorsements.
• Cashes checks in accordance with bank policy and provides receipts.
• Enter transactions into computer system and balance cash drawer daily.
• Provide accurate customer service and balance cash drawer to minimize teller differences.
• Identify product needs through questions and refer to business partners.
• Assist with basic deposit account openings and maintenance with coaching from a senior employee.
• Develop product knowledge to achieve personal and team goals; track sales opportunities in CRM.
• Participate in onsite visits to promote Employee Perks at Work and Merchant Services.
• Engage in outbound teleconsulting to grow client relationships.
• Attend weekly huddles and one-on-one coaching.
• Serve as relief/backup teller at other Midland States Bank locations.
• Travel for training and team meetings as needed; comply with all regulations.
