Job summary

KIPP New Orleans Schools (KNOS) seeks passionate teachers to join a network of 13 college/career-prep public charter schools serving about 5,000 students in New Orleans. You will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction, use HQIM, and leverage data to guide planning and student growth.

You will collaborate with DSS/ESL staff to support multilingual learners and students with IEP/504 plans, participate in family outreach, and contribute to a culture of belonging.

Qualifications

• Offers are contingent upon successful completion of a professional reference check, proof of identity and work authorization (all KNOS employees must complete an I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form), a state background check, and verification of teaching experience
• Strong preference for urban, open enrollment school experience and demonstrated success raising student achievement outcomes

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction using HQIM; communicate daily objectives and success criteria; check for understanding throughout.
• Plan/adapt units and lessons to build conceptual understanding and fluency; align tasks and rubrics to depth of standards.
• Use data to drive instruction; analyze daily work, interims, and state assessments; reteach, spiral, and extend.
• Differentiate and scaffold using diverse strategies; coordinate with DSS/ESL staff.
• Structure purposeful practice with varied groupings; provide timely feedback tied to rubrics.

Education

State issued teaching credential

Two years of teaching experience in urban, open enrollment schools
