Job summary

Montgomery County Community College is seeking part-time Baking & Pastry Arts faculty to teach assigned courses and support curriculum development, assessment, and student advisement. Faculty are encouraged to participate in college service and professional development.

Teaching hours are day-time between 8:00am and 6:00pm; typically one day per week. A PA background check and fingerprint clearances are required prior to start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in appropriate discipline. Master’s degree or terminal professional degree preferred.
• At least five years of industry experience required, with at least two years of industry management experience.
• Current ServSafe certification required.
• ACF membership and/or another professional association in the area of instruction preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates of all abilities.
• Community College teaching experience preferred.
• Commitment to innovative instructional techniques and use of course management systems.
• Commitment to diverse learning styles and information literacy resources.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in Baking & Pastry Arts.
• Participate in course and curriculum development, program and course assessment.
• Advise students and engage in college service and professional development.
• Attend daytime teaching hours (8:00am–6:00pm), typically 1 day per week.

Education

Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent in appropriate discipline
