Job summary

Hy-Vee in Vermillion, SD is hiring a Bakery Clerk. You’ll greet customers, help them find items, and support the bakery team to keep products fresh and inviting. Training is provided; no prior experience required.

You’ll work with a friendly team to deliver a warm, welcoming in-store experience and maintain high sanitation standards. Role focuses on preparing and replenishing baked goods, assisting at the counter, and handling basic POS tasks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding service at the bakery counter.
• Assist customers in finding items, carrying heavy purchases, and taking orders.
• Review daily orders, monitor freshness, and maintain stock levels.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods; manage product from cooler/freezer.
• Maintain sanitation and keep the work area clean and organized at all times.
• Process payments at the department register when applicable.
• Remove trash and keep the department tidy; work with teammates for a positive experience.
