Hy-Vee is hiring a Bakery Clerk to join our Bakery team in-store. You will greet customers, assist with products and orders, and help maintain fresh, appealing baked goods. Join a welcoming team and contribute to a positive customer experience in a bustling bakery environment.

Responsibilities include handling orders, stocking, sanitation, and operating the bakery register. Prior experience is helpful but not required; a friendly, reliable attitude matters most.

Qualifications

• Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted
• Up to six months of similar or related work experience preferred
• Basic math skills and the ability to count, add, subtract and record accurately

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide welcoming service at the bakery counter
• Assist customers in finding products, reach items, carry heavy purchases and take bakery orders
• Review daily orders and monitor product freshness and supply levels during your shift
• Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods from cooler or freezer for baking
• Follow sanitation procedures and keep work area clean and organized at all times
• Operate the bakery department register to process payments where applicable
• Remove trash and maintain a tidy department
• Collaborate with teammates to ensure a smooth, positive customer experience
