Hy-Vee’s Bakery Clerks play a key role in keeping one of our most popular departments running smoothly and smelling amazing. In this role, you’ll prepare and replenish products, assist customers at the bakery counter, and help create the kind of warm, welcoming experience that keeps people coming back.

No prior experience is required; Hy-Vee will happily train and support you as you grow in a friendly, team-oriented bakery environment.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is not required; but patient, friendly attitude is important.
• Good communication with customers and teammates is essential.
• Ability to stay organized and handle multiple tasks in a busy bakery environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly at the bakery counter.
• Assist customers with finding products and placing orders at the bakery counter.
• Monitor product freshness and supply levels throughout your shift.
• Prepare and replenish baked goods and pull items from cooler/freezer as needed.
• Maintain sanitation and keep the work area clean and organized at all times.
• Assist in other store areas and support team as needed.
• Operate the department register to process payments where applicable.
