Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Bakery Clerk to support daily bakery operations and deliver a warm, friendly customer experience. You will greet customers, assist at the counter, and help maintain fresh, well-presented products on the shelves.

You will follow orders, monitor product freshness, and work with teammates to ensure a clean, organized, and safe bakery environment. Prior bakery experience is a plus, but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Provide friendly, helpful service to customers in the bakery area.
• Follow written and verbal instructions accurately and promptly.
• Handle transactions and assist at the bakery counter with basic math.
• Stay organized, maintain cleanliness, and follow safety procedures.
• Up to six months of similar experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming bakery atmosphere.
• Assist customers in finding products and taking orders at the counter.
• Review daily orders, monitor freshness, and manage product levels.
• Prepare and replenish baked goods, pulling items from cooler or freezer as needed.
• Maintain sanitation and organize the work area at all times.
• Operate the department register and process payments when applicable.
• Collaborate with teammates to ensure a smooth customer experience.
