Job summary

Hy-Vee in Tea, South Dakota is seeking a Bakery Clerk to support the Bakery department by preparing and replenishing goods, assisting customers at the counter, and helping create a welcoming experience for shoppers.

You'll greet customers, maintain product freshness, follow sanitation procedures, handle invoices and light register duties, and collaborate with store teammates to ensure smooth service and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted. Up to six months of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and making them feel welcome in the bakery
• Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, carrying heavy purchases, and taking orders at the bakery counter
• Review daily orders and monitor product freshness, appearance, and supply levels throughout your shift
• Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods as needed, pulling product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for baking
• Follow and maintain proper sanitation procedures, keeping your work area clean and organized at all times
• Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed
• Operate the department register to process payments where applicable
• Remove trash in a timely manner and maintain a tidy department
• Work alongside your teammates to ensure a smooth, positive experience for every customer
• Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed

Education
