The role emphasizes department merchandising, ordering, inventory, displays, safety compliance, and teamwork, with requirement of retail grocery and supervisory experience and flexibility for varied schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience.
• Be dependable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with strong customer interaction skills.
• Good communication skills; able to give and take direction in a team.
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
• General housekeeping and sanitization of the department.
• Able to operate knives, scales, wrappers, and related equipment.
• Stand for long periods and lift items as required; knowledge of safety guidelines and food handler permit.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for productivity and profit.
• Oversee ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team.
• Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays.
• Monitor incoming cases for damaged items and ensure high quality bakery products.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain bakery product quality.
• Unload deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
