Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Bakery Manager to lead Bakery Clerks and assist the Bakery Manager in daily operations. You will focus on customer service, product quality, inventory, and merchandising to maximize department productivity.

The role requires supervisory experience in retail grocery, strong communication, and a commitment to safety and sanitation. Flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Good communication skills and ability to take direction in a team environment.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Be able to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks and hand trucks as needed.
• Stand for up to 3 hours continuously and up to 8 hours per shift, with heavy lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; obtain Food Handlers permit.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team.
• Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays.
• Monitor in-coming cases for damaged items.
• Ensure delivery of excellent customer service and monitor quality of Bakery products.
• Unload and sort store deliveries and operate deli equipment.
• Ensure adherence to company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
