Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Bakery Manager to lead the Bakery Clerks and assist the Bakery Manager in daily department operations. You will focus on merchandising, inventory control, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of retail grocery and supervisory experience, strong communication, and a flexible schedule. The role includes health/safety compliance and equipment handling in a vibrant store environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum of two years' retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience.
• Be dependable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent communication and the ability to work in a team.
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Able to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Stand for long periods and lift items as described.
• Adhere to safety, health, and sanitation guidelines and hold a Food Handlers permit.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for productivity and profit.
• Supervise Bakery Clerks and support daily Bakery Department operations.
• Oversee ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and team supervision.
• Rotate merchandise and build appealing displays.
• Monitor incoming cases for damaged items and ensure quality.
• Ensure excellent customer service and compliance with safety guidelines.
• Unload deliveries and operate bakery equipment when needed.
