Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a Bakery Department Manager to supervise the bakery team, oversee guest service, merchandising, and operations. You will cover duties in the manager's absence, ensure product quality, and maintain sanitation standards.

The role focuses on achieving sales goals, controlling shrink, and coordinating scheduling while guiding staff development. This is a full-time position at the North Carolina store location.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality and ability to work with others.
• Experience in bakery operations and supervising staff.
• Able to lift 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Able to read and understand information and directions.
• Strong communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to stand for extended periods.
• Willing to train staff and manage scheduling and labor.
• Willing to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from bakery department staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the bakery department.
• Maintain desired level of inventory and supplies.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to ensure bakery department hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Maintain department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
• Perform PA announcements.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
