Job summary

Panera Bread is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a bakery-cafe and inspire a high-performing team. You will partner with the General Manager on operations, guest satisfaction, and growth of the business while owning hiring, training, and people development at your location.

You will be responsible for staffing, scheduling, performance management, and maintaining Panera's standards across food quality, service, and store presentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18
• 1+ years of restaurant management experience preferred
• ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve)
• Proven ability to drive positive results through business acumen
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the bakery-cafe team to deliver excellent guest experience
• Plan and manage staffing, scheduling, and career development
• Hire on-board and train new team members; motivate and engage the team
• Oversee operations to meet goals, quality standards and guest service expectations
• Partner with GM to develop managers and Panera's guiding values and behaviors
• Ensure guests are delighted with food, service, and team
• Build relationships to grow loyal guests and community presence
• Follow procedures to implement company strategies and initiatives
• Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations
• Maintain a safe, healthy workplace and manage costs and inventory
• Contribute to a culture of warmth, belonging, growth, and trust
