Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Bakery Manager to oversee the Bakery Department's overall performance, including production, display, quality, inventory, and budget. You will lead a team to deliver excellent customer service and fresh bakery items in a fast-paced store environment.

Collaboration with Store Manager and scheduling will be essential. The role requires hands-on leadership, safety compliance, and the ability to coach staff through performance reviews and daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with positive attitude toward customers and team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to take direction.
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping and maintain clean, sanitized work areas.
• Able to operate knives, scales, wrappers, and pallet jacks as needed.
• Stand for up to 3 hours at a time and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights & Measures regulations and maintain Food Handlers permit.
• Work with personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products.
• Supervise product quality, inventory, and budget.
• Evaluate operations to identify improvements; implement new practices.
• Ensure safety, sanitation, and productivity standards.
• Responsible for ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage.
• Rotate merchandise and build displays.
• Manage department inventory, pricing integrity, labor, and other processes to Sprouts standards.
• Plan and order to maximize sales and gross profit.
• Lead and coach team members and conduct bi-annual performance reviews.
• Attend in-store meetings and collaborate with Store Manager.
• Recruit, hire, promote/transfer decisions.
• Act as MOD as needed.
• Create schedules and staffing levels for productivity.
• Communicate standards and product knowledge to team.
• Deliver highest quality product and customer experience.
