Job summary

Call Your Mother is hiring a Bakery Facilities Technician to keep our DC commissary and production bakery running safely and reliably. You’ll troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and lead repairs in collaboration with vendors when needed.

You’ll diagnose, repair, and oversee equipment across bakery and production spaces, with a hands‑on, issue‑resolution mindset and a focus on keeping operations uninterrupted.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on facilities, equipment maintenance, or repair experience.
• Experience with commercial bakery, restaurant, kitchen, or food-production equipment (ovens, refrigeration).
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills; read manuals and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and complete routine repairs on bakery, kitchen, production, and facility equipment.
• Serve as first point of contact for equipment and facility issues at the commissary.
• Determine whether repairs can be done in‑house or require an outside specialist.
• Complete ~70% of repairs directly; coordinate outside vendors for ~30%.
• Escalate major decisions to the Commissary Director.
• Build and follow a preventive‑maintenance schedule to reduce downtime.
• Inspect equipment and facilities to prevent disruptions to production.
• Communicate downtime and repair status clearly to leadership.
• Maintain up-to-date work orders, warranties, and vendor records.
