Job summary

Michigan Bread Company is seeking experienced Maintenance – Operational Support Technicians to support our fast-paced commercial bakery manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
• 3–5 years of industrial electrical experience preferred.
• Bakery or food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting production and packaging equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, technical manuals and equipment docs.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on bakery production and packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Maintain equipment integrity and minimize unscheduled downtime.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform timely corrective repairs.
• Support equipment changeovers, startups, and operational troubleshooting during production runs.
• Repair and maintain boilers, water heaters, water conditioning equipment, and water distribution systems.
• Monitor plant electrical systems and main electrical panels.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, logs, and parts usage documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures including LOTO, GMPs, OSHA standards, and food safety requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, and waste reduction.
