Job summary

Claremont Foods is seeking a Bakery Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve bakery production and packaging equipment in a high-speed food manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on industrial maintenance experience with strong mechanical troubleshooting, electrical/pneumatic skills, and familiarity with GMP and food-safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Bakery or food-manufacturing maintenance experience strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability.
• Experience with motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, conveyors, and pneumatic systems.
• Basic-to-intermediate industrial electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and basic electrical schematics.
• Basic computer and tablet skills.
• Ability to document maintenance activities accurately.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work in hot production environments.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair bakery production and packaging equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Diagnose equipment failures and identify root causes.
• Repair and replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, sprockets, rollers, shafts, pumps, and other components.
• Inspect equipment for wear, vibration, noise, overheating, misalignment.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic systems including cylinders, valves, regulators, solenoids, air lines.
• Perform equipment adjustments, alignment, lubrication, and component replacement.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, changeovers, and continuous-improvement projects.
• Respond to production breakdowns with urgency while following safety procedures.
• Verify equipment operation after repairs before production return.
• Communicate equipment conditions to leadership.
• Complete work orders, PMs, downtime records, and maintenance documentation.
