Job summary

Hy-Vee in Georgia is seeking a Bakery Department Manager to lead a busy team, set product quality, and create a friendly, efficient shopping experience. You will supervise staff, schedule shifts, and ensure department standards.

You’ll work with store leadership to drive sales, manage inventory, and maintain sanitation and safety; prior bakery or retail management is preferred, along with a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• One or more years of related bakery or retail management experience preferred.
• Completion of sanitation courses or on-the-job training in food safety is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Set and uphold department standards for customer service, cleanliness, sanitation, team relations, and profitability.
• Build a friendly, welcoming atmosphere by encouraging your team to greet customers and lead by example.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate department employees, and handle performance and disciplinary matters as needed.
• Coordinate scheduling and department goals in partnership with store leadership.
• Oversee ordering, replenishment, pricing, invoicing, and bookkeeping for the department.
• Analyze weekly and monthly sales trends, plan promotions and displays.
