Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Bakery Department Manager to lead the Bakery department with a focus on quality, customer service, and team leadership. You will set department standards, manage staff, and ensure the freshest products and a welcoming store experience for every customer.

You\'ll build relationships with teammates and customers, supervise daily operations, and coordinate scheduling, ordering, and promotions to drive department profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One or more years bakery or retail management experience preferred.
• Sanitation training or courses completed is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set department standards for service, cleanliness, sanitation, team relations, and profitability.
• Encourage a welcoming atmosphere and lead by example in customer interactions.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
• Coordinate scheduling and daily work plans with store leadership.
• Oversee ordering, pricing, and bookkeeping for the department.
• Analyze sales trends and plan promotions and displays.
